Marketing Reports

Knowing the Numbers: Marketing Reports
Knowing the Numbers: Marketing Reports

by Emily Lorg, Personal Account Manager

Indexed Pages

Launching a new website is an exciting event! The design and functionality is "live" and ready for web visitors. But what now? How do you know if it's working for you?

About a month after your website goes live with IMS, you will begin to receive monthly Marketing Reports from your Account Manager with statistics about your marketing performance. This is the website maintenance and reporting part of your Essential Solution® marketing system.

Because you do not have a lot of time to analyze the data, we’ve done that for you! Your Marketing Report is a summary of the marketing products that are available to you, how well you are utilizing them and tips for tweaks, as needed.

One area that will be highlighted is the number of pages indexed on top search engines.

What are "Indexed Pages"?

Search engines pour over the content on all websites and organize the information in useful ways, a lot like a library.

When you search for something using a search engine, the results you see are all the pages the search engine found online that best relate to what you typed, in priority order.

Starting out, your indexed page count will be quite low. You will have about thirty pages of content (or so) from IMS. From there, you will need to grow your index by continuing to submit fresh information for IMS to post on your site – workshops, new staff, community involvement, etc.

But the biggest contributor to your indexed pages is your blog! Blogging daily will frame your site as a reputable, educational source of information that your clients can return to frequently because it updates constantly.
